Collection: 1st (Root) Chakra
The 1st (Root chakra) or Muladhara is our body's most fundamental energy center located at the base of the spine. Associated with the color red, it is the root of your being and establishes the deepest connections with your physical body, your environment and with the Earth. The root chakra is associated with your sense of safety, security and feeling at home within your skin. The energy of the 1st chakra allows us to harness courage, resourcefulness and the will to live during trying times.
Physical imbalances in the root chakra include problems in the legs, feet, tailbone, immune system, male reproductive parts and prostate gland. Those with imbalances are also likely to experience degenerative arthritis, knee pain, sciatica, eating disorders and constipation.
Emotional imbalances include feelings affecting our basic survival needs including money, shelter, food and the ability to provide for life's necessities. You may feel ungrounded, unsafe and insecure. Your home life feels chaotic and unsettled. You may feel stuck in life and have a low sense of flexibility.
It is important to balance the root chakra first, before we proceed to others, or we will lack the stability and rootedness necessary for true transformation and personal growth. We cannot grow and change unless we feel safe and secure. When this chakra is balanced, your feel supported, a sense of connection and safety to the physical world and grounded.
