The 4th (Heart) Chakra or Anahata is located in the center of the chest at the heart level. It is connected with the element of Air and is associated with the color green. It is the center of love, warmth, compassion and joy. It is associated with your deep bonds with others, your sense of caring and compassion, your feelings of self-love, altruism, generosity, kindness and respect. You create a safe and supportive environment. People feel at peace around you, as there is no judgment coming from you.
Physical imbalances include asthma, heart disease, lung disease, issues with breasts, lymphatic systems, upper back and shoulder problems and arm and wrist pain.
Emotional imbalances include issues of the heart, over-loving to the point of suffocation, jealousy, abandonment, anger and bitterness. You have a feeling of a sense of lack or loss with regards to love or an inability to receive love in any of its forms. You have a lack of self-compassion. You have a fear of loneliness.
When your heart chakra is open and the energy is flowing freely, you are not only loving to others, you are also loving to yourself. You feel joy, gratitude, compassion, forgiveness flows freely and trust is gained. To open to love is to reach the deepest place and connect with our true essence, our spirit, and our soul.
